Late yesterday, at around 23:00 UTC, several newsletter sends were delayed.
Whilst this ultimately affected a very small number of active sends (ten), we wanted to post in the interest of transparency, and for reference.
Between 23:00 UTC and 02:00 UTC (15 September 2016) we saw several instances where newsletter workers failed to initiate. In response to these our on call team was able to queue newsletters manually, whilst they investigated the root cause.
We have since determined that the cause related to a loss in database connectivity. We have not seen any reoccurrences and are now making some adjustments that we believe will prevent any future related issues.
We will continue to monitor this for the next 24 hours.
